Fitness Master X Series Momentum Review
This spinning bike is an impressive stationary cycle, rivaling commercial bikes found in fitness clubs. The first thing you see when you get in front of this bike is how tough and well put together it is. Even if you give it everything you have and go as fast as you can, this indoor training cycle will not vibrate at all given its heavy frame and heavy construction.
It takes about 30 minutes to assemble the Fitness Master X Series Momentum and tighten everything up. The tension adjustment responds instantly to the slightest touch and the X Series Momentum is very quiet. It's also extremely straightforward to adjust the seat and handlebar. The handle bars may be gripped in several ways for optimal comfort, from leaning forward as you would during sprints to sitting straight when coasting. Since the bike isn't going to fall over, you don't even have to hang on to the handle bars to have a nice cool-down period.
If you have cycling shoes, they may be attached into the pedals and the toe cages keep you feet in place. There is an extra set of clips included with the bike for differing kinds of cycling shoes.
The Fitness Master X Series Momentum is a bit heavier than the typical fitness bike because of its solid construction. Moving it around requires listing the back and balancing it on the little movement wheels in the front. However, it might be a good idea to get someone to help you move it as even balance on the front wheels, the X Series Momentum is not exactly a light bike.
The Fitness Master X Series Momentum isn't perfect and has a few minor annoyances. The seat is not exceptionally comfortable, especially for sustained exercises. Nevertheless, it’s easy to replace the seat with any average bike seat that you like. A gel seat may be a good decision for people who use the cycle more than 30 minutes per workout.
Depending on your personal preference, the fact that X Series Momentum does not include an LCD screen, as found on other types of exercise bikes, might or might not be a bad thing. While most other types of exercise bikes come with LCD displays, most hard-core cyclists do not use them since the display keeps them from concentrating on their exercise program. It's generally not a good idea to become dependent on the display to accurately gauge the progress of your workout.
Summary
Overall, the Fitness Master X Series Momentum Indoor Cycling Bike is a fantastic spinning bike for the money with most of the features that are standard on more expensive bikes.
PhD Studentship in Engineering Change, Design Group, DDEM, Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology (OpenUniversity.ac.uk)
Complex engineering products are often designed through a series of
incremental changes on components and subsystems. Margins are designed into
these components and subsystems and specify how much design parameters exceed
requirements. This PhD investigates the role that margins play in (i)
controlling how change propagates through parts of a design and (ii) informing
product and platform planning.
The PhD is carried out in conjunction with the Volvo group. You will be based
at The Open University in Milton Keynes, but will carry out detailed case
studies in Sweden and work with other PhD students in the Volvo group. You
must be confident both in a commercial and an academic context. The work
requires skills in carrying out case studies as well as mathematical modelling
The topic will suit candidates with a background in engineering, particularly
mechanical, automotive and aerospace engineering, or mathematics, at a 2(1) or
1 level with a Masters degree or equivalent experience.
The PhD will start on 1 April 2012 or as soon as possible afterwards.
Potential applicants should contact Dr Claudia Eckert or Prof Chris Earl for
informal discussions or enquiries.
The studentship will provide a stipend (currently the minimum is £13, ...
