When having a discussion about your blog’s appearance, there are quite a few things that come to mind. Since most blogs these days use blogging display areas, it signifies that you only have to think of setting it up with templates that happen as expected with the platform. For the reason that most blogs use blogging platforms until now, themes should be particular in the sense that they should be made to work with the platform. Sure, there are templates that come with the installation of the blog, but would you really like your blog to look like thousands if not millions of other blogs on the internet? A lot of your readers will appreciate your efforts at making a unique design as a very professional thing to do. You maybe before this time have a design in mind when thinking of personalizing your website’s theme. Applying plug-ins like Sitegrinder helps a lot in terms of getting an operating arrangement from a site mock-up. SiteGrinder 2 can help you create your own website even if you're not familiar with the basics. Before setting up your mock up, it’s important to understand simple and basic design principles. Here are several of them:
- Create a background that would work for your layout instead of applying backgrounds that are too busy and loud. One of the nastiest fault you can do on your website is to use sparkling gifs and dizzying outlines as your background.
- Don’t utilize diagrammatics that are too vast in file size because your readers would have a demanding time loading the page. Your title should idyllically not take ages to load, and keeping way too several thumbnails and announcements on the sidebars would absolutely take much time to load, aside from reroute your readers from the substance of the site. This is particularly true for site designs that are formed on image slices. You can also use tools like Sitegrinder or WYSIWYG editors to create CSS designs which will make storing and correcting easier.
- Pick your layout fonts cleverly; don’t use fonts with effervescent or custom fonts because it may not display correctly across all browsers and computers. Pick fonts that are easy to read and goes along with the ambiance of your page. Using custom fonts or using fonts that are too small or too light in color will definitely give your readers a difficult time; most readers won’t have the time to read what you published if the font you used isn’t readable.
These are some of the basic concepts for those new in web designing. Try to design your website while taking into consideration what the usual reader would find attractive and setting it off with awesome content and you’ll have faithful readers eventually.
