What is the role of a mortgage broker?
I am starting an entry lever position to work with a lending company that deals with a lot of brokers, even though I won't have to deal with them personally I would like to know if anybody knows how they work, the person told me most of them are a**holes and rude over the phone but what's the point.....?? Anybody experienced in that area?
I suppose you can find jerks in any profession. I am a real estate broker and have worked with many. Most have been helpful and eager to serve my clients. What does a broker do? A broker provides and sells a service to provide a party with the products, services or needs of another party. For instance a real estate broker finds available properties and brings a seller and a buyer together for the purpose of creating a real estate transaction. The mortgage broker finds sources of funds available to home purchasers for a mortgage. When they obtain a client in need of a mortgage, they can get the best mortgage for their client's needs. Some clients would rather go to a lender directly, like a bank or credit union. It could be the better option, but they should recognize that they limit their options to what that specific bank offers by doing that.
