Listening devices, recording devices, and the audio playback devices are what is making the various categories of audio devices. From the whole, you should consider audio recording devices to be the most important ones. They are indeed the real precursors that are going to help you to capture and to store the audio in a machine-readable format. This format will later be used. In such recording equipments, the most popular and most widely used is the microphone. Check here Drum Microphone Reviews to learn more about drum microphones.
There are tons of microphones you can divide according to: the kind of connectivity being used, the polar pattern (the direction the microphone will capture sound waves from), and their technology. Some kind of microphone set that is quite important for live music performances and recordings is the drum microphone. A drum microphone set will comprise of a minimum of 4 microphones for the toms, snare, high hat and the bass. Each individual drum microphone is custom-tailored for whatever part of the drum kit it will be capturing sound from. We can say that all the components of a drum microphone set do have a cardioids pattern. Expect the sound to be picked up from the front. Such kind of microphones will be part of the condenser technological category. Capacitors being connected to their diaphragms are being used. If you don't know such technology: you should know that the diaphragm of a microphone is the component that will vibrate the moment it is hit by sound waves. Here Microphones you will get more infos about the best microphones, and here Best Microphone you will find some microphone reviews.
The moment the diaphragm of a drum microphone will vibrate, the capacitor's plates will also vibrate. It will create a current that is related to sound waves that made the diaphragm vibrate firstly. Most of the time, drum microphones designed for high hats are designed as shotgun microphones. They can be considered mostly as condenser microphones with a polar pattern that is going to pick up the sound from the rear, as well from the front.
You will thus be sure a fuller sound is recorded from the high hats of the drum kit.
Expect studios to use drum microphones in order to record live drums that are being used in audio tracks. Finally, it is possible to use such drum microphones to capture and to amplify the sound of the drums when you're part of a live music show.
