Why won't my dome and courtesy lights work?
I have a 1980 Corvette and can't get my dome and under the dash by your feet lights to work. They all have power to the socket and have new bulbs in them. Why won't they work? I don't have the exact bulb it calls for but don't think that would hurt. I have also cleaned the switch in the door jam too. NEED HELP!!!
o.k. I have the dome and underdash light working. It was a loose wire in the headlight switch. But I still have the issue of them not working when the door opens. I have cut the driver side plunger and hooked it up to power just to see if it worked and it did, but it won't power the lights on when you open the door. What the hell is going on??
You state that there is power getting to these outlets. Have you tested them with an inline tester? If so, the fuse is okay. I would buy the correct bulbs, especially since you have cleaned the switch. There are many bulbs that look the same but are very different. That's why there are so many. Save the bulbs you have for other cars and/or sockets.
