It Is Tough To Run A Bakery

So many people out there walk into a bakery and then walk out agai n, it is not an easy business to run. If you are seriously thinking about opening up your very own bakery then I would consider these things first.

Early Mornings

A good bakery will start running at the very early hours of the morning which means you need to be up even earlier making breads, cakes and pastries. You will need to be baking all day if your bakery turns out to be very popular. Other things you will have to bake include doughnuts, pies and rolls.

Machinery

This is a very important part of being a baker and every day a baker much operate things like cutting machines, ovens, microwaves and blenders. This means that you will need training in all of this before you even think about opening up shop. Many boxes of flour, sugar and other goods will need to be lifted each day so having some physical strength may be needed.

To help with the learning of all of this kind of thing look no further than bakers books and confectionery recipe books along with things like food books.

A good baker will not simply have all of the normal things like a lot of other people but will be able to think of their own unique products to sell on to the public. If you have something that is a bit different then you are most certainly going to stand out above the chains in this kind of market.

If you are passionate about baking then without a doubt you are going to succeed you need to make people want your food and you need to be really in love with the food that you make too!

Anyone can succeed in this time of thing if they really do try!

How would I begin to open a trendy shoe store?

I am still in college and LOVE shopping especially for shoes. So I figure what better way to make a career out of something I enjoy doing. I just recently started attending college, so I have another couple of years before I will accomplish my goal. But I was curious to know what can I do now in order to prepare and make my store successful and open more than one location. The types of shoes I am interested in selling, are woman ranging from 17yrs-40yrs, I would buy from different designers. The location of the store might be in California, not sure where exactly, still working on that. I almost want to do a store like Bakers, very trendy price range around $15-$100. I only want to sell shoes and accessories (jewelry, hang bags, etc.) So any and all advice would be great. Thanks again.

1st of all shopping for shoes and running a bussines seeling ladies things are two way different things

the daily issues of running a business have ruined many peoples health

SURE it fun shopping and going with friends eat lunch etc... YOU have no responsibilities
I'm serious here YOU have no idea what it is like to deal with the public

AND OMG girls are thee worst ever buying

they go look at 10 differnt stores after finding what they wanted and liked at 1st or 2nd store just wasting 2 hours of time and wind up going back to that 1st store and buy that item they 1st liked !

SO hope that they visit YOUR store 1st and come back

ON the other hand the way to start is TO SAVE about $100,000 cash

and hope thats enough to find a loaction and get licensing and enough stock to start off with and advertise every where every day

or else be prepared to close shop in a year

Chet Baker - I get along without you very well
